It isn't a coincidence that this was my verse for this morning. Christ didn't come to be served, but to serve, and to give his Life as a ransom for us. If you really stop to ponder that, it will blow your mind. We live in a world where we want to be served & we are always thinking of ways that our "self" can be gratified. But Jesus told His followers James and John when they were trying to position themselves in the BEST seat in His coming Kingdom, "Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all" (Mark 10:43-44).
Soon after Jesus said this, (verse 51) Jesus stopped to ask a blind beggar, "What do you want me to do for you?" "Rabbi, I want to see." Jesus immediately gave him sight and he followed Jesus (verse 52). Our Lord "did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many" (verse 45). I want to be compassionate for others and be a servant to others. That is my prayer for us today. Let us be servants of OUR LORD!!!!!
